Sgt. Pepper Paul McCartney

Hokay.... so like more than a year ago, my friend and I start up an Anime Club at our Community College. We are able to do so only because my mother is a string teacher there. Here's the catch: she only has ONE STUDENT. As a favor to this student, I was to draw either pretty Paul here, or a violin. I brashly exclaimed that I would draw Paul McCartney WITH a violin.... the project sat unstarted until last august, when I started kicking myself in the heindquarters about drawing more. I decided I would just do Paul up right in the style of my favorite Beatles ablum (guess which). Hehe... and he's holding an English horn, which was the insturment he held on the album cover.

This took a lot of studying blurry photographs to get the outfit right, but it payed off in the end. I vectored the yellow submarine from the animated movie, and made a sort of simple vector background. I originally had it pink, if you can beleive it, but my sister said that looked dumb (I just though it clashed with his blue too much). I tried making it green (like the sea of green), but that looked even stranger. So blue it is... with a hint of pink still lingering on one of the layers... haHAH.

My only problem with this picture? The drawing clashes far too much with the background. That's a common problem in my pictures, actually, but usually it's a lighting issue. here it's more of a stylistic clash.

Hope you like it. Oh, and by the way, I've recently decided that my favorite Beatles Album is actually "The White Album (which was simply called "The Beatles"). Sgt. Pepper is still great, though, and is always going to be the most IMPORTANT of their albums in my mind.
